Skoda has released official images of its upcoming compact electric crossover, the Epiq, clad in the brand’s signature camouflage. Positioned as Skoda’s most affordable electric vehicle, the Epiq will go on sale this year with a starting price of around €25,000. The model is built on the simplified front-wheel-drive MEB+ platform, designed specifically for budget EVs within the Volkswagen Group, prioritizing efficiency, interior space, and affordability over maximum power.

Despite its compact dimensions and relatively upright proportions, the Epiq boasts a low drag coefficient of just 0.275, which helps extend its range. The base version features a 38.5 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery (usable capacity ~37 kWh) paired with electric motors producing 114 or 133 hp, delivering up to 315 km of range under the WLTP cycle. An optional 55 kWh battery (usable 51.7 kWh) with a 207 hp motor allows for up to 430 km and a 0–100 km/h acceleration in 7.4 seconds. DC fast-charging power ranges from 50 to 125 kW depending on the version, with the larger battery charging from 10% to 80% in roughly 23 minutes. Notably, the Epiq comes with disc brakes on all four wheels, unlike some other MEB-based models that use rear drum brakes.

Details of the interior remain limited, but the crossover will come standard with a 5.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 13-inch infotainment screen, with seat upholstery made from 100% recycled plastic. The trunk offers 475 liters of space, expanding to 1,344 liters with the rear seats folded, making the Epiq more practical than the related Kamiq. Skoda positions the new model as a mainstream European electric crossover – compact, affordable, yet spacious and technologically advanced.
