A passenger train collided with a route minibus at a railway crossing in Kvasyliv, Rivne district, on July 2, leaving at least four people dead and 13 others injured, according to Ukrainian authorities.
The collision occurred at around 1:55 p.m. local time. Police, emergency responders and railway personnel are working at the scene.
Initially, Rivne Regional Police reported three fatalities and several injuries. However, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) later confirmed that four people were killed, while 13 others sustained injuries.
Rescue teams are continuing efforts to recover the victims' bodies, assist the injured and carry out emergency operations.
Meanwhile, Ukrzaliznytsia, Ukraine's national railway operator, said train traffic on the affected section has been temporarily restricted. The company added that the exact circumstances of the collision will be determined following an official investigation.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
