The Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has reported a military aircraft crash in the Khmelnytskyi region that occurred around 7 p.m. on June 16, 2026. According to the official statement, a Su-24M frontline bomber from the 7th Tactical Aviation Brigade named after Petro Franko went down during a routine training flight.
Both crew members on board — a pilot and a navigator — were killed in the accident. The Air Force has released their names, honoring them as fallen defenders of Ukraine.
Emergency services, law enforcement, and a special commission from the Ministry of Defense are working at the crash site to determine the cause of the incident. Authorities reported that no civilian casualties or damage to infrastructure have been recorded. The investigation is ongoing.
