U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) reported that American forces detected Iranian drones launched toward the Strait of Hormuz overnight on June 6 and intercepted four of them.

According to CENTCOM, the drones posed a threat to regional maritime traffic. In response, U.S. forces carried out strikes on Iranian coastal radar installations in Goruk and on Qeshm Island, aiming to prevent further attacks. The command stated that U.S. forces remain vigilant and are prepared to respond again if necessary, describing the actions as self-defense.

The incident comes amid ongoing tensions and reported exchanges of strikes between the United States and Iran during a fragile ceasefire period. Earlier, both sides had accused each other of attacks, including drone and missile launches and strikes on regional military and energy-related targets, though many claims remain disputed.
