Nova Poshta has reduced the free storage period for parcels and other shipments from seven days to five, the company said. The new rule took effect on October 1.
The company said the change was introduced to reduce the amount of time shipments remain at branches amid continued Russian attacks on civilian infrastructure.
“According to our statistics, 97% of shipments are collected within the first five days,” Nova Poshta said, adding that most customers are therefore unlikely to notice the change.
The new five-day limit applies to the free storage of documents, parcels, freight and tires or wheels. Pallets will continue to be stored free of charge for three days.
Nova Poshta has periodically warned customers about delivery delays following Russian strikes on its logistics terminals and branches. The company has said such delays are caused by manual processing of shipments and changes to delivery routes.
Russia has also targeted other Ukrainian businesses and transport infrastructure, affecting the country's import and export operations.
The transport sector has faced significant disruption as a result of Russian attacks and the blockade of Ukrainian ports, while reliable transportation remains important for maintaining the country's foreign trade.
