Ukraine suffered a second consecutive defeat in the 2026/27 UEFA Nations League, losing 2-1 to Hungary in Trnava on October 5 in the fourth round of Group B2. The result leaves Ukraine third in the group with four points, three behind Hungary and four behind leaders Northern Ireland.

The first half ended goalless, but Hungary took the lead seven minutes after the break through Milan Toth.

Ukraine equalized in the 83rd minute. Roman Yaremchuk headed in from a corner to make it 1-1.

Hungary restored its lead just two minutes later when Márk Csinger scored, securing a 2-1 victory.

The defeat was Ukraine's second in a row after a 3-0 loss to Northern Ireland in the previous round. Earlier in the group stage, Andrea Maldera's side beat Hungary 1-0 in Budapest and drew 0-0 with Georgia.

After four matches, Northern Ireland lead Group B2 with eight points, followed by Hungary on seven. Ukraine have four points, while Georgia have two.

Ukraine will play its final two group-stage matches in November. The team will visit Northern Ireland on November 14 before hosting Georgia on November 17.
