Ukraine’s national minifootball team secured a historic place in the final of the 2026 European Minifootball Championship after a commanding 5-1 victory over Hungary in the semifinals on Wednesday.

Competing in Slovakia, the Ukrainians produced another dominant display to continue their impressive run through the tournament. It marks the first time Ukraine has reached the final of a European Championship organized by the European Minifootball Federation (EMF).

Ukraine topped its group stage campaign with wins over Belgium (4-0) and Turkey (3-2), along with a 1-1 draw against Serbia. In the knockout rounds, the team eliminated Portugal 3-1 in the round of 16 before defeating Georgia 4-0 in the quarterfinals.

Unlike futsal, minifootball is played outdoors on a field measuring up to 50 meters in length and 30 meters in width, with six players on each side.

Ukraine will face the winner of the Serbia–Azerbaijan semifinal in the championship match on June 4 as it seeks its first European title.
