Ukraine has used the Fire Point-developed FP-7 tactical ballistic missile in combat for the first time, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on October 1.
“Ukrainian tactical ballistic missile. FP-7. First combat use. Thank you for the result. Next up: production,” Zelenskyy wrote on Facebook, accompanying his statement with video footage of a missile launch.
Zelenskyy did not disclose the target, location or other details of the strike. The reported combat result has not been independently verified.
The FP-7 was developed by Ukrainian defense company Fire Point and was unveiled in 2025. Footage of a test launch from a ground-based platform emerged in February 2026.
According to previously reported specifications, the missile is designed to strike ground targets at distances of up to 200 kilometers and can carry a warhead weighing up to 150 kilograms. Its maximum speed is listed at 1,500 meters per second, with a stated accuracy of up to 14 meters and a maximum flight altitude of about 65 kilometers.
In September, Fire Point said the FP-7 had entered military trials after completing ground, laboratory and flight testing, according to the company's CEO Iryna Terekh.
The first reported combat use marks a new stage in Ukraine's effort to expand domestic production of tactical ballistic weapons. Zelenskyy said production of the FP-7 would now follow.
