Dacia’s lineup will be expanded with a new electric vehicle featuring a distinctive design. The model is expected to be priced at around €18,000, positioning it as an affordable alternative to Chinese electric cars.
Like the Spring, the new EV will enter the compact segment and help Dacia meet its CO₂ emissions targets in Europe. The car will be based on the Renault Twingo but will feature a unique design that sets it apart within the segment. A darkened teaser image released by the company shows a compact hatchback with crossover-inspired elements and sharp body lines. It features a short hood, a steeply raked windshield, narrow headlights, and traditional side mirrors.
Dacia emphasized that the new model will not be a copy of the Spring, despite its restrained styling. At the same time, it will not fully follow the design of the platform-sharing Twingo, although some elements will be borrowed. The electric car will be built on a shortened version of Renault’s AmpR Small platform and will be equipped with a single electric motor producing 81 hp and 175 Nm of torque. A 27.5 kWh battery will provide the driving range.
The compact electric model is scheduled to be unveiled in the second quarter of 2027, with a promised starting price of €18,000. In an interview with Auto News, Dacia’s Head of Sales Frank Marotte said the company’s goal is to significantly expand its electric vehicle offering in the compact segment.
