Volkswagen has officially ended production of its all-wheel-drive Touareg SUV, marking the end of a 23-year chapter in the brand’s history. The final batch has rolled off the production line, as the German automaker prepares to shift focus toward its fully electric ID. series of crossovers starting in 2026.
According to CarBuzz, Volkswagen’s Wolfsburg plant released a Touareg Final Edition to commemorate the occasion. While the updates are mostly subtle, they carry strong symbolic value.
The base model of the Final Edition features heated, 18-way adjustable seats, a curved infotainment display, 18-inch alloy wheels, and a full suite of modern driver-assistance systems. The Elegance trim adds matrix LED headlights, 3D-effect taillights, chrome exhaust outlets, multicolor ambient lighting, and decorative aluminum and wood inlays.
Every unit in the last production run sports a more dynamic exterior design and new seat patterns. Orders for the Touareg Final Edition will remain open until March 2026 in all markets where the SUV is available.
