From January to November 2025, nearly 9.86 million new passenger cars were registered across European Union countries. Demand for new vehicles remains strong despite global economic fluctuations.
As expected, Volkswagen led the sales charts, with Europeans purchasing over 1.12 million cars from the brand, a 4.7% increase compared to the same period last year. This performance secured Volkswagen a clear first place among competitors.
The top three also included Toyota and Skoda. The Japanese manufacturer sold around 676,600 vehicles, while Czech brand Skoda reached 664,100 units, a 10% increase year-on-year. Other brands in the top ten included Renault, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Dacia, Peugeot, Audi, and Hyundai. Analysts note that German cars continue to be among the most reliable in the world, though some models are more popular than others. Such rankings help consumers make informed choices when buying a new car.
Experts recommend paying attention not only to the brand but also to technical specifications, fuel efficiency, safety ratings, and maintenance costs. This ensures selecting a vehicle that is both practical and economical for everyday use.
