Toyota has officially introduced the new Land Cruiser FJ at the JMS 2025 Motor Show in Tokyo. This compact SUV will be the smallest and most affordable member of the Land Cruiser family. According to Japanese media, the brand’s stand drew massive crowds — so many people wanted to see the new model up close that it was difficult to approach.
Built on a modified IMV platform known for its durability and toughness, the Land Cruiser FJ features a high ground clearance and geometry similar to the Land Cruiser 70, but with a 270 mm shorter wheelbase than the Land Cruiser 250. Its 5.5-meter turning radius ensures excellent maneuverability on narrow streets and off-road terrain.
Under the hood, the SUV is powered by a proven 2.7-liter 2TR-FE gasoline engine producing 163 hp and 246 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed Super ECT automatic transmission and four-wheel drive, highlighting its off-road capability.
The interior combines practicality with modern design, focusing on everyday comfort and usability. Production will take place in Thailand, with sales set to begin in 2026.
Pricing has not yet been revealed, but Toyota confirmed that the Land Cruiser FJ will be cheaper than the Land Cruiser 250 (Prado), which starts at around 5.2 million yen (≈$34,000) in Japan.
