Japanese automaker Toyota continues to maintain its leadership in the global automotive market. As of November 2025, the brand tops the ranking of the world’s best-selling car manufacturers with a 10.6% share of global sales.
On a year-on-year basis, Toyota’s sales rose by 1.3%, allowing the company to confidently retain first place. The second position was taken by Germany’s Volkswagen Group, which holds a 5.6% share of the global market despite a slight 0.9% decline in sales.
Third place went to U.S. brand Ford with a market share of 4.5%. The company recorded sales growth of 2.8%. The top five also included Hyundai and Chinese manufacturer BYD, which, however, reported a 6.4% drop in sales.
Analysts separately highlight the rapid growth of Chinese brand Geely. The company closed out the top ten, posting a record 60.1% increase in sales year on year. Experts say Geely is actively strengthening its position in the global auto market and is aiming for leadership in the electric vehicle segment. At the same time, BYD remains the world’s current leader in electric vehicle sales.
The world’s ten most popular automotive brands as of November 2025 were Toyota, Volkswagen, Ford, Hyundai, BYD, Honda, Nissan, Kia, Chevrolet and Geely.
