Ukraine has started the implementation of a one-time targeted financial assistance program, providing 6,500 UAH to its most socially vulnerable citizens.

According to Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko, the first transfers have already begun reaching applicants’ accounts, while banks continue processing the remaining payments.

Applications and deadlines
As of now, 323,443 people have submitted applications for the program.

Eligible citizens can apply through multiple channels: via the official government app Diia or at local offices of the Pension Fund of Ukraine. The final deadline for submitting applications is December 17.

Who is eligible
The program is designed to support individuals in urgent need of financial assistance. The 6,500 UAH payments are intended for:

  • Children under guardianship or care.
  • Children with disabilities raised in foster families or family-type orphanages (DBST).
  • Internally displaced children (IDPs) already receiving housing support.
  • Children from low-income families.
  • Persons with Group I disabilities among IDPs.
  • Single pensioners receiving care allowances.

How to use the funds
The assistance is credited to a Diia.Card or a designated bank account with a special usage regime.

Prime Minister Svyrydenko noted that the funds can be spent on essential needs:

"The received funds can be used to purchase medicines, clothing, and footwear within six months of receipt."

The government plans to allocate 4.3 billion UAH for this program, which is expected to benefit around 660,000 Ukrainians.
