Ukraine’s Ministry of Finance has agreed with the Group of Official Creditors to postpone payments on state and state-guaranteed debt, signing a new Memorandum of Understanding.
The document, signed by Finance Minister Serhii Marchenko and representatives of creditor countries including Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Italy, the Netherlands, the UK, the US, and South Korea, extends earlier agreements reached in 2022 and 2023.
Under the memorandum, debt payments due from February 2026 are deferred until the end of February 2030, in line with the program of the International Monetary Fund. Repayment of deferred amounts will then be made in equal semiannual installments between 2035 and 2039, with interest capitalized.
The agreement is seen as a key component of ongoing international financial support for Ukraine.
