Ukraine will continue scheduled power outages for household consumers on Thursday, November 21, Ukrenergo reported on Telegram.

According to the company, from 00:00 to 23:59 most regions will face consumption-restriction measures, including:

  • hourly outage schedules for household consumers across 2.5 to 4 rotation groups;
  • power-limitation schedules for industrial consumers.

Ukrenergo noted that the timing and scale of restrictions may change throughout the day, with updates to be provided by regional power distributors.

Why restrictions are tightening

On November 20, Ukraine faced stricter outage schedules than in previous days — in some parts of Kyiv, electricity was cut for up to 18 hours.

The tightened measures follow a massive Russian strike overnight on November 19 that targeted energy facilities in seven regions.

Ukrenergo head Vitalii Zaichenko said the most difficult situation is in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Odesa regions.

DTEK added that the attack damaged not only generation facilities but also transmission infrastructure, forcing nuclear power plants to reduce output.
At the same time, colder weather has pushed electricity consumption higher, contributing to stricter limits.
