The Ministry of Digital Transformation has launched a new initiative that allows citizens and businesses to connect their generators to mobile network base stations during blackouts — and get paid for it. The program aims to ensure uninterrupted communication during power outages, enabling people to call emergency services, receive alerts, and stay connected in critical moments.

To participate, generators must have a minimum capacity of 7.2 kW.
Participants will be compensated ₴110–140 per hour of operation.
According to ministry estimates, that means roughly:

  • ₴1,320 for individuals
  • ₴1,720 for businesses
for every 12 hours of generator work.

“This is a joint effort between the state, businesses, and citizens. Every connected generator is a real contribution to keeping people connected when it matters most,” the ministry said.

Those interested can call the hotline 0 800 33 63 28 (available on weekdays from 9:00 to 18:00) to find the nearest base station, calculate approximate payment, and share their contact details. The operator will then assess technical compatibility, finalize cooperation terms, and sign an agreement.

The ministry emphasized that technical connection to the base station is the operator’s responsibility, while fueling and maintenance remain the owner’s duty.
