On October 30, a shooting occurred at the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center (TRSSC) in Kremenchuk, Poltava region, injuring two servicemen.
The information was reported by Yurii Sulaiev, spokesperson for the Poltava region police.
Police Investigation
Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the shooting inside one of the TRSSC buildings. The police received a report of the incident at 16:20 on Thursday, and a forensic-operational team is currently on site.
Statement from the TRSSC
The Poltava TRSSC confirmed that two servicemen were wounded while performing their duties. According to the center, around 16:00, police escorted a conscript to the recruitment center. During document processing and the mandatory check for prohibited items or substances, the individual pulled out a handgun (reportedly converted from a traumatic TT pistol) and fired several shots, injuring both servicemen in the legs.
Shooter Detained
The injured servicemen are hospitalized and in stable condition. The shooter has been detained, and an investigation is ongoing.
Under Article 348 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, attempting to take the life of a serviceman carries a sentence of nine to fifteen years in prison or life imprisonment.
