Drones Detected Over Military Facility in Elsenborn and Near Düren, Germany
Unidentified drones were spotted over a Belgian military training ground in Elsenborn and later near the German town of Düren, according to Slawa TV.
The drones first appeared above the Elsenborn area, which hosts a Belgian army training center, air force base, and firing range covering roughly 28 square kilometers. The site is located just five kilometers from the German border.
At 1:45 a.m., German police also reported drone activity near Düren, about 44 kilometers from Elsenborn. The launch site and operators remain unknown.
Hybrid Warfare Escalation
The incident comes amid growing concerns over Russia’s hybrid warfare tactics. In September 2025, Moscow ramped up drone and aviation incursions into NATO airspace. On September 7, a Russian Mi-8 helicopter violated Estonia’s border, while on September 10, around 20 drones entered Polish airspace before being intercepted by NATO jets. Days later, a Russian drone flew 10 kilometers into Romanian territory, remaining there for nearly 50 minutes.
