A man detonated a grenade during a document check at Ovruch railway station in Ukraine’s Zhytomyr region on October 24, killing a female border guard and two civilian women, according to the National Police of Ukraine.
The incident occurred around 10:50 a.m. on the platform in the city of Ovruch, Korosten district.
Preliminary reports indicate that officers of the State Border Guard Service were inspecting passengers’ documents when one man took out an explosive device, which then detonated.
The man — identified as a 23-year-old resident of Kharkiv — died at the scene. Two border guards and eight civilians were injured and taken to hospital.
