Russia’s Black Sea port of Tuapse has halted fuel exports, and the local refinery has stopped processing crude after a Ukrainian drone attack on November 2.
Reuters reports that the Rosneft-controlled refinery, which ships most of its output abroad, suspended operations the following day due to damage to port infrastructure caused by the drones, according to industry sources.
Before the strike, Tuapse had been expected to increase fuel exports in November. Analysts said three tankers were docked at the port during the attack for loading crude oil, diesel and fuel oil. As of November 5, all vessels had moved off the berths and were anchored near the port. The Tuapse refinery, which has a processing capacity of 240,000 barrels per day and is focused on exports, produces crude, fuel oil, vacuum gasoil and high-sulphur diesel.
The plant — which has been targeted by drones several times — primarily supplies fuel to China, Malaysia, Singapore and Turkey.
