In the morning, he was served with a notice of suspicion.
On Saturday, November 8, a court in Dnipro ordered the detention of a commander of a drone systems unit who organized a ceremonial formation on November 1. During that event, two Russian missiles and three attack drones struck the site, killing 12 Ukrainian servicemen and seven civilians, the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) reported.
According to the SBI, the Central District Court of Dnipro placed the commander of one of the battalions in custody. Earlier that morning, SBI officers had notified him of suspicion of negligent attitude toward military service committed under martial law (part 4 of Article 425 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation established that on November 1, the officer organized a ceremonial lineup and award presentation for more than 100 servicemen in the Dnipropetrovsk region. After an air raid alert was announced, the commander did not cancel the event or disperse the personnel.
During the gathering, Russian forces launched two ballistic missiles—likely of the Iskander type—and three Geran attack drones. As a result of the strike, 12 soldiers and seven civilians were killed, and 36 servicemen were wounded.
