Ukraine has extradited a member of a criminal organization from Poland, suspected of manufacturing and distributing highly dangerous drugs, including methamphetamine. The suspect has been placed in custody, the Office of the Prosecutor General reported.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office facilitated the extradition from Poland of the man suspected of organizing a criminal group and engaging in illegal drug trafficking (under Articles 255(1), 28(4), 307(3) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, as amended before October 24, 2024).
Investigators state that between 2017 and 2019, the suspect was part of a 26-member criminal organization operating in Kryvyi Rih. The group set up an illegal laboratory where they produced methamphetamine and the highly dangerous synthetic drug PVP, which they distributed through an organized network. In September 2019, the suspect was formally charged but went into hiding, prompting a national and later international search via Interpol.
In May 2025, Polish authorities detained the suspect. Following a request from Ukraine, Polish officials approved his extradition. He has now been transferred to a Ukrainian detention facility, and the indictment has been submitted to the court.
Additionally, at the prosecutor’s request, the court has imposed pre-trial detention as a preventive measure.
