The Czech army has detected unknown drones over the country’s strategic infrastructure, primarily above military sites, and is prepared to detect, identify and neutralize them.
That’s according to General Staff spokeswoman Zdenka Sobarna Koshvantsova, who spoke to iDNES.
She said there have been instances of unidentified drones being spotted near critical infrastructure, including military facilities, but declined to disclose a list of the affected sites, calling that information classified. Koshvantsova also did not specify when the sightings occurred.
The spokeswoman added that the Czech army continuously shares information about such threats with its NATO partners, but those exchanges are also confidential.
According to her, the Czech military is ready to detect, recognize and neutralize drones either by shooting them down or by using radio-frequency measures, depending on the circumstances and the balance of risks.
