Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited the command post of the 1st Corps of the National Guard’s Azov formation and met with soldiers currently holding the defense in the Dobropillia sector.
According to Zelensky, he heard frontline reports and discussed the battlefield situation, priority needs, weapons supplies, and scaling up drone production. Special attention was paid to improving coordination between drone units and ground forces, including the use of artillery and long-range precision munitions.
The President also touched on strengthening defense lines near Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad, securing logistics routes, and efforts to free Ukrainian prisoners of war. Military commanders reported ongoing efforts to eliminate the Russian foothold in the Dobropillia area and stabilize the front, noting that Russian forces continue trying to regain lost positions.
The briefing was attended by Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi, Azov Corps commander Denys Prokopenko, and Air Assault Forces commander Oleh Apostol.
Zelensky awarded state honors to Ukrainian defenders and thanked them for their service, stressing that “this is our land, our East, and we will do everything to keep it Ukrainian.”
