According to him, the sides agreed not to disclose details.

Ukraine’s NATO membership was discussed during a meeting between Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin and Trump envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff. This issue is considered key, Russian aide Yuri Ushakov told state media.

Ushakov did not reveal the specifics of the talks. According to him, the Russian and American sides agreed not to publicly discuss what was said during the Kremlin meeting.
“The negotiations were held behind closed doors, and we agreed that neither we nor the Americans would specifically comment on what and how the two American representatives and our President discussed,” the Putin aide said.

According to Ushakov, following the five-hour Kremlin meeting, the peace plan proposal was not finalized. He described the meeting as “useful and substantive,” noting that Putin could agree to some points, but certain issues drew Russia’s criticism. As a result, the American delegates Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner immediately returned to Washington, canceling their planned meeting in Brussels with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
