Ukraine's parliament approved the appointment of Serhii Koretskyi as prime minister on July 16, with 289 lawmakers voting in favor.
Presenting his priorities to parliament, Koretskyi said his government would focus on preparing for the next winter, fully supporting Ukraine's defense forces, assisting frontline communities, backing businesses, strengthening cooperation with international partners, and advancing the country's EU accession.
Asked whether Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov could remain in office, Koretskyi said the appointment of the defense minister is the exclusive prerogative of the president. He also praised Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko, who is widely expected to replace Fedorov.
Koretskyi also announced plans to re-establish a standalone Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, saying Taras Vysotskyi is expected to lead the ministry.
"I want this Cabinet to be a government of defense, economic development, and European integration," Koretskyi said, pledging close cooperation with parliament.
