Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced an upcoming government reshuffle, saying he has offered Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko a new senior role focused on relations with one of Ukraine's key international partners.
Zelensky thanked Svyrydenko for what he described as her "clear, stable and effective work" and said the personnel changes are intended to implement Ukraine's updated political strategy.
"We are beginning personnel changes that must ensure the implementation of the renewed political strategy," Zelensky said, adding that the Cabinet of Ministers would be restructured with parliamentary approval. He also announced upcoming changes in the leadership of Ukraine's law enforcement agencies.
According to MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak, Svyrydenko is expected to become Ukraine's ambassador to the United States, although no official appointment has been announced. He also named several potential candidates to replace her as prime minister, including Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov, and Naftogaz CEO Serhii Koretskyi.
Zelensky said the new strategy would assign a senior official to oversee each of Ukraine's priority foreign policy areas. These include cooperation with the United States on Patriot missile production, a joint European anti-ballistic missile project, relations with neighboring countries such as Poland and Hungary, cooperation with the Middle East and Gulf region, ties with China, and engagement with key international organizations.
The president also said Ukraine faces new domestic challenges, including strengthening governance in frontline and border regions, preparing the country for winter, accelerating reforms at state-owned companies critical to national resilience, and advancing reconstruction agreements with international partners.
The announcement follows Zelensky's recent pledge to strengthen Ukraine's diplomatic efforts to speed up deliveries of air defense missiles and deepen cooperation with allies.
