President Volodymyr Zelensky said he held talks with senior Ukrainian military commanders to discuss the battlefield situation and Ukraine's broader wartime strategy, as reports continue to circulate about the possible dismissal of Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi.

Zelensky said he spoke with Joint Forces Commander Mykhailo Drapatyi, Deputy Chief of the General Staff Volodymyr Horbatiuk, and Air Assault Forces Commander Oleh Apostol.

"The important thing is to assess our future strategy, our active actions, and how to force Russia to end this war with a peace worthy of Ukraine and guaranteed security," Zelensky said. "This has many components, and I want to hear how commanders and senior officers in our Defense and Security Forces see it. Tomorrow I have key discussions."

The president's statement came amid media reports by the Financial Times and ZN.UA that Syrskyi could be removed as Ukraine's commander-in-chief.

Zelensky also held online meetings with army corps commanders and said decisions regarding the armed forces would be prepared in the coming days. Former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov also signaled that changes were forthcoming.

Reports have linked Fedorov's dismissal during the recent government reshuffle to a long-running conflict with Ukraine's military leadership, particularly with Syrskyi, as well as concerns within the presidential office over his growing political influence.
