Elon Musk, the world’s richest man, has announced plans to launch his own alternative to Wikipedia — Grokpedia.
The billionaire made the statement in response to a post on X by David Sacks, who criticized Wikipedia for alleged bias and being dominated by what he called “an army of left-wing activists.”
Musk replied that his artificial intelligence company, xAI, will create Grokpedia, which he described as “a significant improvement over Wikipedia” and a necessary step toward xAI’s mission of understanding the universe.
The Tesla and SpaceX CEO has previously criticized Wikipedia as being “too woke,” even referring to it mockingly as “Wokepedia,” and suggested the need for an alternative platform providing what he claims would be more balanced information.
In another post, Musk invited the community to join xAI in building Grokpedia — an “open-source knowledge repository that will be far superior to Wikipedia.” He emphasized that the platform would be fully public, with no restrictions on usage.
