Italy has formally approved its 12th military aid package for Ukraine, the country’s Official Gazette reports.

Under a decree signed by Defense Minister Guido Crosetto and agreed with the heads of Foreign Affairs and Economy, Ukraine will receive another tranche of military equipment, hardware, and supplies.

For security reasons, the full list of transferred items — compiled by the Italian General Staff — is classified and not publicly disclosed. The decree stipulates that the equipment and supplies will be delivered free of charge and written off from inventory.

While a description of the arms will be maintained solely for internal accounting, delivery timelines are to be as short as possible.

Italy’s continued support for Ukraine

Italy has been providing military assistance to Ukraine since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion. The Italian government has repeatedly renewed authorizations for arms exports to Ukraine. Previously, the 11th aid package included, among other items, Italian variants of tracked M113 armored personnel carriers (VCC-2 Camilino).

As Defense Minister Crosetto said earlier, “Our position regarding Ukraine has not changed. We continue to help Kyiv with everything we can.”
