At former President Donald Trump’s Florida estate, Mar-a-Lago, a man was shot and killed after attempting to breach the secured perimeter. According to the U.S. Secret Service, cited by The Guardian via Associated Press, the individual was seen near the estate’s north gate carrying what appeared to be a shotgun and a fuel canister.
Trump often spends weekends at the resort, but he was reportedly at the White House at the time. The intruder was neutralized by Secret Service agents and a Palm Beach County deputy.
This is not the first security incident at Trump’s Florida properties. On September 15, 2024, shots were fired near a golf club where Trump was playing. The Secret Service quickly apprehended the suspect, who was later sentenced to life in prison in early February.
