On the morning of January 7, a major accident involving 13 vehicles occurred in Kyiv, causing significant traffic disruptions in the direction of Vyshhorod, according to the Kyiv Patrol Police.
“Due to a 13-car collision on Dniprovodska Street, traffic is heavily congested toward Vyshhorod,” police reported.
Authorities have organized a detour using the oncoming lane, and drivers are advised to plan their routes accordingly.
Earlier today, on Sofiivska Street, trolleybus and vehicular traffic were temporarily suspended due to road surface damage. Currently, trolleybuses are operating only up to the Lukianivska metro station and the Povitrflotskyi overpass.
Emergency crews are on-site inspecting the damaged section, and anti-accident repair work is expected to begin shortly, after which normal traffic should resume.
Authorities also warn that icy conditions are present in Kyiv today. Meteorologists forecast deteriorating winter weather across Kyiv and the region from January 6 to 10, including snow, sleet, fog, and icy roads.
