On Thursday, February 5, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk arrived in Kyiv for a working visit, the Chancellery of the Polish Prime Minister reported on social media.
“The Prime Minister Donald Tusk has begun his visit to Kyiv,” the statement read.
A few days earlier, Tusk announced on X (formerly Twitter) that he would visit Kyiv at the invitation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
“Over the next few days, I will be in Kyiv at the invitation of Volodymyr Zelenskyy. At this critical time, Ukraine cannot be left completely alone,” Tusk wrote on February 2.
He previously commented on the large-scale Russian attack on Ukraine on January 9, which included the use of an Oreshnik medium-range ballistic missile, saying, “Today the world is witnessing various alarming events,” and “above all, Russian aggression against Ukraine.” He added that the prospect of peace—or at least a ceasefire—“still remains distant,” despite recent discussions in Paris this week on security guarantees for Ukraine from the EU and the US.
