According to preliminary reports, the children were shot by their father.
The Lviv Regional Military Administration reported that the tragedy occurred on the evening of February 15 in the village of Stanislavchyk, Zolochiv district. The police received a report of gunshots in a household around 9:25 p.m.
Upon arrival, authorities found the father and his two children, aged 13 and 15, dead. Preliminary information suggests that the 42-year-old man shot his children with a hunting rifle and then took his own life. The circumstances of the incident are still under investigation, with all relevant services working at the scene.
According to the local Child Services, the family was considered well-off and was not registered with social services. Previously, there were other tragedies in Lviv and Dnipropetrovsk regions, where six young children died in a fire after their mothers left them locked in the house.
