Trilateral talks between Russia, the United States and Ukraine on a possible settlement could take place in Abu Dhabi, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said, according to Russian news agency Prime.
Asked about a possible venue for the meeting, Peskov confirmed that Abu Dhabi remained under consideration.
“For now, Abu Dhabi is being discussed,” he said.
Peskov declined to provide details about preparations or proposals for the next round of talks, which is planned for November.
“You are getting ahead of yourselves. There is no need to do that,” he added.
Russian President Vladimir Putin previously told US special envoy Steve Witkoff that he was ready to resume trilateral talks on Ukraine in the second ten days of November. Putin’s aide Yuri Ushakov also said another round of discussions could take place in Abu Dhabi next month.
US President Donald Trump has said Washington and Moscow are approaching a settlement to end the war in Ukraine, claiming the sides are closer to an agreement than ever before.
Media reports have also suggested that Trump wants Zelenskyy and Putin to sign a peace agreement at the G20 summit scheduled for December in Miami, Florida. Sources said Kyiv could face pressure during the negotiations.
The Kremlin has likewise claimed that the war in Ukraine is approaching its end.
