Prince Andrew, the younger brother of King Charles III, has been arrested in Norfolk over alleged links to Jeffrey Epstein. Reports from BBC and The Guardian indicate that Andrew, formerly a British trade envoy, is suspected of misconduct in public office.
Police stated: “Today (19/2) we arrested a man in his 60s from Norfolk on suspicion of misconduct in public office and are conducting searches at addresses in Berkshire and Norfolk. He is currently in police custody.” Andrew was arrested on his 66th birthday.
Authorities are investigating claims that he shared confidential information with Epstein while serving as a trade envoy. They are also examining allegations that the convicted financier sent a woman to the U.K. for sexual contact with Andrew.
For context, in France a diplomat is under investigation for providing Epstein with United Nations documents, and the Council of Europe revoked the diplomatic immunity of its former Secretary-General Thorbjørn Jagland to allow police to probe his ties to the American financier.
