The Ministry of Social Policy has provided clarification.

In Ukraine, certain categories of citizens will be eligible for a one-time cash payment to help them get through the winter comfortably. The “Winter Support” program will launch at the beginning of December, the Ministry of Social Policy, Family, and Unity reported.

Who can receive 6,500 UAH

The ministry explained that a one-time payment of 6,500 UAH under the Winter Support program will be available to the following groups:

  • children under guardianship or custody;
  • children with disabilities, foster children, and children from family-type homes (including those with disabilities);
  • persons with Group I disabilities among internally displaced persons (IDPs);
  • children from low-income families under 18 years old;
  • single pensioners receiving a care allowance.

According to the Ministry, the payment can be used to purchase winter clothing and footwear, as well as medicines and vitamins. The funds must be spent within 180 days of being credited.

The payment will be made automatically for eligible categories. The Pension Fund of Ukraine will independently determine eligibility and process the payments.

“The funds will be transferred to a current account with a special usage mode or to a virtual Diia.Card,” the ministry stated.
