Ukraine has launched a new one-time state payment of 50,000 hryvnias for the birth of a child, with the law officially entering into force on January 1, 2026. Eligible mothers can already apply for the benefit through the Pension Fund of Ukraine or online via the Diia app.

This was announced by Liudmyla Shemelynets, First Deputy Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity, during a national telethon.

According to her, there are two ways to receive the payment:

  • by submitting an application to the Pension Fund of Ukraine;
  • by applying online through the eMaliatko service available in the Diia app.

Shemelynets noted that the full technical implementation of the digital services may take some time. Therefore, those who wish to receive the payment immediately are advised to apply directly to the Pension Fund.

The 50,000-hryvnia payment is granted to mothers who give birth after January 1, 2026. For children who are under one year old as of that date, the state provides monthly fixed payments under updated social support rules.

The relevant legislation, bill No. 13532, was adopted by Ukraine’s parliament on November 5, 2025, with 294 lawmakers voting in favor. The law introduces higher state benefits for families with children.

In addition, the Ukrainian government plans to launch the eKindergarten (eSadok) program in 2028, which will provide monthly payments for children aged three to six, funded by local budgets.
