Heat restored, but not everywhere: 378 Kyiv buildings still without heating
As of the morning of January 30, 378 residential buildings in Kyiv remain without heat, most of them located in the Troieshchyna district.
This was reported by the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA) on Telegram, citing Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
“378 high-rise buildings in Kyiv are still without heating. Most of them are in Troieshchyna. Some are located in several other districts of the capital,” Klitschko said.
According to the mayor, more than 100 buildings in Troieshchyna were reconnected to heating yesterday, and another 50 were restored overnight. Utility workers and energy specialists continue repairs across different districts to bring heat back to residents’ homes.
Heating situation in Kyiv
On January 29, authorities reported that more than 900 buildings across Ukraine were without heating, including 613 in Kyiv. Buildings where heat cannot yet be restored are being connected to stable power supply to partially compensate for the lack of heating.
In Kyiv, many residential buildings have had their heating restored for the second time this month, following Russian strikes on January 9 and January 20.
Additionally, centralized hot water supply has been temporarily limited in some apartment blocks due to the difficult energy situation after the latest mass attacks by Russia.
Klitschko noted that over 1,000 municipal workers are currently involved in repairing damaged critical infrastructure and restoring heating. Despite these efforts, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called for faster restoration of heat in Kyiv homes.
