Ukrainians will be able to spend the funds on a range of goods and services, including medicine and transportation.
Minister of Social Policy Denys Uliutin announced that all Ukrainians in need of state support will be able to receive 1,000 UAH in December. The funds can be used for essential goods and services, particularly for public transport and medication.
Earlier, the minister noted that the government allocated 28 billion UAH for a new support system for families with children. It includes a one-time payment of 50,000 UAH at the birth of a child, monthly assistance of 7,000 UAH during the first year of life, as well as additional payments for families raising children with disabilities.
Previously, Ukraine’s Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko stated that the government is preparing a large-scale winter assistance package for citizens.
The package will include housing subsidies, compensation for generator purchases, and a moratorium on power cut-offs in frontline regions. Assistance for internally displaced persons for purchasing firewood will also continue.
