On Sunday, January 11, Kyiv is experiencing numerous localized power outages due to attacks, freezing temperatures, and grid overloads. All available resources are being used to restore electricity.

According to DTEK’s Telegram, some residents may face prolonged power cuts. “As of 17:00, we have over 200 reports. We are monitoring each one and doing everything possible to restore power to every home,” the company said.

Currently, 57 repair crews are working around the clock. DTEK also urged residents to use high-power appliances one at a time when electricity returns to help prevent new outages and stabilize the system.

Background
On the night of January 9, Russia launched another combined attack on Kyiv with drones and missiles, hitting energy facilities along with residential buildings. Emergency power cuts were implemented as a result.

By January 10, Ukrainian energy crews had restored electricity to 648,000 customers, and the city gradually returned to scheduled outages. However, emergency cuts continue in the left bank, as well as in the Holosiivskyi and Pecherskyi districts.

Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko noted that electricity supply in Kyiv is expected to improve by Thursday, January 15.
