Pensioner identification: what to do if it is not confirmed
Ukrainians continue to receive pensions and other social payments, but some pensioners are required to undergo physical identification. Pension expert Victor Bogdanov explained to the publication “Na Pensiyi” what to do if the Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU) has not confirmed a person’s identification.
How to check if a pensioner has completed identification
Bogdanov noted that pensioners who have already undergone identification but receive a notification stating it was not confirmed should first verify the actual status.
“We cannot rule out the possibility of false or mistaken information from the PFU. If the Pension Fund does not always comply with court rulings, recalculates pensions incorrectly, or even reports alleged pension debts, then messages about ‘uncompleted identification’ are also entirely possible,” he said.
Pensioners can check their identification status via the PFU’s web portal using the “My Identification” service, which allows users to:
View the date of their last identification;
See the source through which it was conducted (bank, front-office).
Bogdanov emphasized that this information is critical, as it confirms the right to continue receiving pensions.
How to use the “My Identification” service
Go to the PFU electronic services portal.
Log in using a qualified electronic signature (QES), Diia.Signature, or ID.GOV.UA to access your personal account.
In the left-hand menu, select “My Identification”.
If the service does not appear, refresh the page (press F5).
If a pensioner does not need identification or has never undergone it, the “Date” and “Source” fields will be empty.
