British boxer Anthony Joshua has publicly challenged compatriot Tyson Fury following his latest victory.
Former heavyweight world champion Joshua (29–4, 26 KOs) knocked out American boxer and video blogger Jake Paul in the sixth round of their fight in Miami. Speaking in the ring after the bout, Joshua addressed Fury, known as the “Gypsy King.”
“Tonight, Paul faced the fire — a boxer who came back after a 15-month break,” Joshua said. “I’m looking ahead to next year. If Tyson Fury is serious enough to put social media aside and put the gloves on, then come out and fight.
“I’m the realest out there and I’ll take any challenge. If you’re really that good, step into the ring with me next. Enough talk. Let’s meet in the ring and settle it with our fists.”
Joshua won the world heavyweight title in 2017 with a technical knockout victory over Wladimir Klitschko. He later lost his belts after back-to-back defeats to Oleksandr Usyk in 2021 and 2022.
In 2024, Joshua faced fellow Briton Daniel Dubois and was knocked out in the fifth round of a title fight.
