London has also provided its military bases in the region for the United States.
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said that international partners will involve experts from Ukraine to help Gulf countries shoot down Iranian drones that are attacking them.
He stated this in an address to the nation while describing the situation in the Middle East. “I want to make it clear that we all remember the mistakes of Iraq and have learned from them,” Starmer noted. He added that London will not take part in strikes on Iran but will support defensive actions by its allies. According to him, British aircraft have already been used to repel Iranian attacks in the region.
In addition, Starmer said that the United Kingdom is providing its military bases to the United States for collective defense needs.
“This complies with international law. Iran is pursuing a ‘scorched earth’ strategy, so we support the collective self-defense of our allies and our people in the region, because it is our duty to the British people. This is the best way to eliminate the threat and prevent further escalation,” the politician concluded.
