A Kuwaiti jet fighter accidentally shot down three U.S. F-15 aircraft during Operation Epic Fury.
According to RBC-Ukraine citing The Wall Street Journal, the Kuwaiti F/A-18 pilot misidentified allied planes as targets and fired three missiles at them. All three American planes were downed, but their pilots successfully ejected.
The incident occurred shortly after Iranian drones violated Kuwaiti airspace, with one drone attacking a tactical center at a commercial port, killing six U.S. servicemen. Kuwaiti forces were on high alert, and when the jets were detected on radar, they were immediately engaged.
The U.S. Central Command declined to comment, and the investigation is ongoing, meaning the official cause could still change. All six crew members ejected safely and are in stable condition. Kuwait has acknowledged the friendly-fire incident.
