Mykhailo Fedorov said that Ukraine’s Defense Forces will also receive 5,000 drones as part of a new €4 billion aid package from Germany.
According to Fedorov, following talks with German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, the package includes hundreds of missiles for Patriot air defense systems, as well as deep-strike and mid-strike drones.
“We agreed on a defense package worth €4 billion to strengthen air defense, develop long-range capabilities, and support joint drone production,” Fedorov said.
Key components of the package
- Germany will finance a contract for several hundred Patriot missiles
- Delivery of 36 IRIS-T launch systems to strengthen Ukraine’s multi-layered air defense
- €300 million investment in long-range capabilities to boost domestic weapons production
In addition, under the Build with Ukraine initiative, the two countries will launch joint production of AI-powered mid-strike drones. At the initial stage, Ukraine’s Defense Forces are expected to receive 5,000 drones.
Fedorov thanked Pistorius for Germany’s leadership and continued support.
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine had already received PAC-3 missiles for Patriot systems from Germany in March.
