NATO representatives and officials from 15 countries are set to discuss security and economic issues. On Saturday, January 3, national security advisors from European countries arrived in Kyiv, according to Rustem Umerov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.

Umerov noted that the meetings will include representatives from the European Commission, the European Council, NATO, as well as Denmark, Germany, the United Kingdom, Norway, France, Sweden, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Canada, Latvia, Finland, Estonia, Poland, and Lithuania. The discussions will focus on security and economic matters, and work is ongoing on framework documents and coordination of next steps with partners.

Recently, President Volodymyr Zelensky publicly outlined all 20 points of the peace plan being discussed by the U.S., Ukraine, and Russia. In addition to the peace plan, he mentioned three other documents and annexes on specific areas. Two of these concern security guarantees—one agreement between Ukraine, the U.S., and Europe, and another between Ukraine and the U.S. The fourth document, developed with the U.S., addresses Ukraine’s reconstruction and outlines a vision for development up to 2040.

According to Zelensky, former U.S. President Donald Trump discussed all 20 points of the peace plan with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
