U.S. presidential envoys Steve Whitcoff and Jared Kushner are reportedly planning a trip to Moscow to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin and discuss a peace plan. The meeting could take place later this month, though it may be delayed due to unrest in Iran, according to Bloomberg sources.

A White House official told reporters that no such meeting is currently scheduled. The Kremlin did not respond to requests for comment. According to sources, the main obstacle to setting a date is Putin’s willingness, which remains uncertain.

Whitcoff and Kushner last visited Moscow in December, holding a five-hour meeting with Putin that did not produce a breakthrough. A potential new trip would mark Whitcoff’s seventh visit to Russia since Trump took office. Previously, Whitcoff and Kushner held talks in Paris with Putin’s representative Kirill Dmitriev, focusing on two key issues: security guarantees for Ukraine and possible Ukrainian territorial concessions in the Donbas. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said he expects a response from Russia regarding the peace plan by the end of January.
