The United States has resumed intelligence sharing with Ukraine after a suspension that lasted for a period of time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Sunday.
Speaking on NBC’s Meet the Press, Zelenskyy also expressed hope that talks with the United States could take place this week, Bloomberg reported.
Throughout the past week, Zelenskyy had repeatedly said Ukraine was no longer receiving intelligence from its partners, including warnings about Russian ballistic missile attacks.
He later explained that Ukraine receives information about ballistic missile launches exclusively from the United States, despite having established intelligence-sharing arrangements with dozens of countries in recent years.
Separately, Ukrainian forces experienced disruptions to Starlink services last week. Problems were reported with the Starshield system used by the military, while civilian Starlink terminals continued operating normally.
According to Bloomberg, the United States had threatened to suspend intelligence sharing if Ukraine continued attacking Russian oil refineries. US officials reportedly contacted Ukrainian military leaders and urged Kyiv to halt deep-strike operations following President Donald Trump’s announcement of an energy truce.
The purported truce itself had not been clearly agreed upon by the parties, with the announcement reportedly taking both Kyiv and Moscow by surprise.
